A television crew sets out to debunk a haunted house. When they loose contact with their reporter, Dr. Strange investigates and discovers that the house is actually an extra-dimensional alien observing humanity. Strange swiftly sends it back to its proper dimension.

Baron Mordo tricks Dr. Strange into his astral form and kidnaps Strange's body. Strange manages to track down Mordo despite the best efforts of his allies and traps. Strange in turn tricks Mordo out of his body and traps him. Strange returns to his body and teaches Mordo a lesson.

Dr. Strange gets careless and forgets to cast his protective spells before sleeping which leaves him vulnerable to Nightmare's attack. Nightmare kidnaps Strange and gloats over his victory. However, Strange tricks Nightmare into freeing when he uses an illusion of Nightmare's greatest foe, a powerful being who never sleeps, to threaten him.
